Psalm 18:6 – In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
Called means to properly address, to invite and to preach. As a believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are blessed with the privilege to pray and receive an answer. However, we must approach our sovereign king properly and in the right spiritual condition. God only hears a sinner’s prayer of repentance.
Prayer is an expression of devout petition. It is an earnest entreating for help.
There are three basic kinds of prayers:
– Asking Prayer – A prayer of understanding (repentance, acknowledgment, etc.).
– Intercessory Prayer – A prayer ignited by the fire of the Holy Ghost (Rapid, speedy, unknown).
– Travailing Prayer – A prayer for ruling over carnality and bringing forth spiritual births into the kingdom of God.
