Thought of the Day – My Person, My Possessions and My Position

Luke 5: And he [Jesus] entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
4Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

God is shifting His people back to the intended purpose of our person, position and possessions being used for the glory of God. Like so many well intended believers, power and prestige can derail us. Before you know it, Jesus is kicked to the curb and we are in the center of our own life, running the show right into the ground! Thank God for His Mercy and Grace!

The uniqueness about being a Born Again Believer in Jesus Christ is the duality of citizenship. We have the privilege (and responsibility) to carry the kingdom of God into the kingdom of man so that the lost may experience the Kingdom of Heaven. However, we cannot go before the lost without a testimony of God being the complete owner and operator of our person, position in life and the possession He has trusted into our care.

The deliverance of others will come through us being “Good Stewards” over the things God has allowed us to occupy until He returns.

When God want to deliver His People from the bondage of Egypt, He chose Moses (the person), his position (past and present) and his possessions (rod and staff).

  1. God got his attention – A bush burning but not consumed
  2. God got his person – take off your shoes
  3. God got his possession – cast down your staff!
  4. God got his position – go tell Pharaoh to let My People go!

God is always working something bigger and better than we can imagine. If you want to get Jesus excited . . . Just say, “Jesus, I don’t see it but I trust you to do it and you can use me however it pleases you!”

This is Kingdom work!
