Thought of the Day – Praying in the Holy Ghost

Jude 1:17- 21 17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
It is difficult but not impossible to pray without being baptized in the Holy Ghost. It is vital for us to begin our relationship with a sinner’s prayer of repentance. The prayer of repentance brings us into a relationship with Jesus and on the road to total deliverance. Contrary to popular opinion, God will not change His Word, Will or Way because we are not willing to submit to His plan for salvation and deliverance. His Word is the standard bearer for the Body of Christ and for anyone living in sin, willing to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
So, what exactly does it mean to pray in the Spirit?
The Greek word translated “pray in” can have several different meanings. It can mean “by means of,” “with the help of,” “in the sphere of,” and “in connection to.” Praying in the Spirit does not refer to the words we are saying. Rather, it refers to how we are praying. Praying in the Spirit is praying according to the Spirit’s leading. It is praying for things the Spirit leads us to pray for. Romans 8:26 tells us, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Cite: www.gotquestions.org
Praying in the Holy Ghost is allowing the Spirit of God to talk directly to God on our behalf. It is similar to allowing someone to proof read your material before releasing it or allowing a professional to recommend needed updates to your home without your input. The key here is you must first grant Him permission. Once He has your permission, you can just think on the power of His Name, how He cleansed the Temple and the ways He has made for you. Then, began giving Him praise and a deep thanksgiving for what He is pouring into your mind. The power of God will over shadow you and start speaking through you to edify God in a heavenly way.
