Thought of the Day – Signs of True Integrity – Citizenship

Characteristic of Citizenship

I Samuel 12: 3 – Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

Verse Three – “or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith?” A bribe means to condone or pacify. The essence of this statement is to be in allegiance with someone in order to hurt or harm another. Samuel did not choose which law to obey. He obeyed all of the laws of God. Too many leaders pick, choose and refuse laws to obey. They will circumvent and placate the people just to fulfill their agenda.

The nation had to admit that the Prophet Samuel was an honest man and he never misused his office for personal gain. He was a man of integrity.
