Thought of the Day – Was that God or the Devil?

God tests what He has installed in us. Satan tempts us before we get the power to overcome him. The simple truth is you will never be tempted by God, only by Satan. Temptation comes because we have been drawn away from the seasonal truth God has prepared for us and we slip into the clutches of sin.

When we are endowed with power from on high or given a spiritual experience in the Word of God, we are being endowed with power to overcome. This power is given for a greater cause than speaking a burning testimony in an evening service. God empowers us to overcome, endure and get deliverance.

Sometimes the power to endure a situation for a long period of time is placed on us because of the level of Word and a Spirit of Grace granted to us. Other times, we are carrying traditional and generational issues and God endows us with a Word experience that grants us powerful breakthrough. Jesus told His disciples … “Neither did this man or his parent’s sin; but that the glory of God might be manifested.” This man carried a burden for decades but his deliverance was instantaneous. God may have allowed you to carry a burden for a longer period of time than another soul. This is no indication of sin or a lack of God’s love for you. It may be that God is testing His Gift of Grace on your life.  Be encouraged! Your day of deliverance is coming!

Reference Scriptures:

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

James 1:12-15 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
