Togo is a tropical, sub-Saharan nation, in West Africa, bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north.
The economy depends highly on agriculture, with a climate that provides good growing seasons. Our goal was to help as many people as we could in the limited amount of time we had. We brought clothing and medical supplies with us. The local ministry covered our hotel and meals.
The flights were long and tiring but we hit the ground running.
Every station was make shift but very well organized by the workers and pre-med students in that country. They were so grateful for the service we provided that they drove us to a tailoring shop and had all of us measured for traditional West African attire.
A very special thanks to Angelo and Jocelyne Alokpa (members of RCC-Fayetteville) for their support, guidance and food preparation for this trip. Also, a very special note of gratitude to the most honorable Kodjo Emmanuel ADEDZE, Director General of Internal Affairs of Togo for his financial support, wisdom and care for the citizens of Togo.
